In a world that is full of competition as well as a global problem of unemployed and searching young professionals, the question to ask is what are the best companies to work for? Here are four of those companies that made it on the top ten list based on an article with Fortune magazine:
1. SAS – this company makes the top of the list with its unusual benefits and record for not laying off any workers during the most recent recession. Being the only 34-year-old company that offers massive healthcare benefits for all its employees, SAS proves itself to be a most successful software company that is privately owned, and makes profits in millions of dollars every year.
2. Edward Jones – this investment advisor company took on a solid stance during the recent recession, and although it froze some salaries, it continued creating profit shares for all its employees, keeping the employee numbers stable without giving any of them the pink slip.
3. Wegmans – some of the employees in this food market business have been employees for over 15 years, and none of them got the lay over during the downward market trend. The company has stoically taken care of its own through its grocery store chain, and has never missed a beat in all the years that it has withstood the tests of time.
4. Google – a well-known and well kept household name since the internet boom, this company has maintained its overall character and taken many bold steps over the years. Google has seen it all, and the recession did not bother this search engine giant, in fact making it even bigger by expanding and hiring more workers into its already humungous fleet.
So, recession or not, globally these companies have proven that there are truly some business strategies worth learning and adopting for steady, stable growth over time.
